One Percent Collective, a notforprofit charity that makes it easy for people to donate 1% of their income to charity (and founded by Pat Shepherd), is collaborating with W1 to launch a very unique art project with proceeds going direct to charity.
‘Safe in Sound’ sets the finest Kiwi artists, graphic designers, tattooists and graffiti writers loose on the complicated canvas of a pair of white Nike Air Force 1 trainers. Each artist will paint a pair of trainers with their own bespoke artwork and for the month of August, Aucklanders can admire the footwear flair on display in Japanese Bar, Fukuko, and the Nike Britomart store.
Artists include Otiz Frizell, Billy Apple + Inhouse Design, Dean and Dan Sacred of Sacred Tattoo, Rainbow Monkey, Component & Trust Me of Cut Collective, Owen Dippie, Melissa Sharplin and Elliot Stewart.
