Holly Roach is a Canadian artist and illustrator now living in Auckland. Study in Fabric Design and Print sparked a passion for screen printing and a love of mid-century art and design. Her artworks are influenced by simple forms, patterns and colours often found in surface designs of the 50s & 60s – and of course her obvious love of birds. Although she does spend most of her time creating original paintings using screen printing methods, she is known to ink up a few tea towels from time to time.
Holly’s background in printmaking really shows in her original painting ‘A Light Came Through’ her use of layers creates a beautiful sense of depth and dimension to the painting. It is something you really must see up close.
