Botanic Beauties

Old botanical prints give a vintage flavour to any room, and help bring a bit of the outdoors in…

Botanic art print

We’re big fans of the humble preserving jar. And who says a flower arrangement has to be all flowers?

botanic art print in kitchen

Love the industrial-meets-vintage flavour of this kitchen, softened by the introduction of a few plant friends.

Art gallery wall

Pick a theme you love, and run with it. Some framed, some hanging on bulldog clips, some stuck to the wall with washi tape… gallery walls don’t need to be expensive.

art in kid's room

So lovely! Favourite ingredients: the botanical print on the wall, the sheepskin (they were a feature of our childhood – what about you?) and the teeny tiny bench seat.

chairs and large wall prints

Not exactly botanical (ew! bugs!), but you can’t go wrong with a big vintage print hanging right above a favourite vintage chair.

Crushing on this clashtastic modern-meets-boho space. And there’s those sheepskins again!

Girls room with art print on wall

Simple sweetness with a vintage botanical print in this little girls room.

One of our popular illustrators Marcus Marritt (UK) has recently started publishing all of his work on a swanky new site. This man is a machine pumping out at least a couple of new works every week. Marcus is heavily influenced by his passion for film and popular characters, and is illustrating everything from book covers to collectable art prints.

3 Autumn Interior Ideas

The weather’s getting cooler… so why shouldn’t your house!
Here’s 3 easy ideas to change things up for the staying-in season:

Now’s a good time to get out that favourite blankie or throw (or treat yourself to one). Not only can you snuggle up underneath it while you watch MKR, but draping new graphic patterns and textures over your sofa is a super easy way to inject some new life into your space.

Bring the outside in. Go for an stroll in that Autumn air and on the way, pick a moody little bunch – flowers, branches, autumn leaves… they’ll look great in an old preserving jar or a vintage teapot.

Candles turn a house into a warm, welcoming home. And they make you sort of glad it gets dark so early! (PS: Have a fireplace that doesn’t work? You should totally put candles in it.)

Margaret Petchell Solo Exhibition

Next week will be the first exhibition in the garage entry at 62 Ponsonby Road! Local artist Margaret Petchell paints large scale birds on canvas. This is her first solo show. Come down and check it out.

Monday @ 6pm. Eats by Little & Friday, Drinks by Kim Crawford.

Limited Edition Prints available on the night too. Lots of easy parking right outside, the show is up for one week only, so pop in during the week to see these big paintings up close!

Klub7, Aus Deutschland

More wonderful discoveries, this time its Klub7 from Berlin. So much of our favourite work is from Germany. A collective of six artists & designers. These are three of our favourites, espesh the BIG wall. Take 10 and check them out (or maybe 20, you’ll need it, there is 10 years of work to poozle through).

Some Cool Ideas for Christmas…

Whew! All our Christmas art print orders have been posted out to you, and now we’re able to really starting to think about Christmas at our place. These cute, clever and just-plain-cool Christmas ideas caught our eye, so we thought we’d share!

That Christmas Wreath Pavlova looks soooo good. See the recipe here. Our baking skills don’t stretch that far, but we’re keen to make some Gingerbread Letters (yes, we’re font nerds).

craft garlands

Take down the tinsel and craft yourself a cool garland instead.

For the Christmas morning coffee? A Peppermint Ice cream Affogato, with strong black coffee. And how cute (and easy) are these Strawberry Santas? They’re definitely happening in our house this year.

A kiwi take on the traditional stocking. Just make sure you use nice new Merino ones, not the ones from the top drawer! (PS: We know it’s the thought that counts, but please don’t fill our stockings with foliage, Santa.) And this is a clever little idea for displaying all those Xmas cards, dontcha think?

No-need-to-be mellow, Yellow

With summer peeking its head round the corner, we’re inspired to add a bold touch of sunshine yellow somewhere at endemicworld HQ…
