Ross Murray has released two new vintage style travel art prints ‘Auckland’ & ‘Mount Maunganui’. A continuation on from his first release of the New Zealand series. The colour palette and typography choices are reminiscent of the New Zealand tourism posters of the 1930’s but they still have a contemporary look, Ross captures so well what we love about these great cities.

Rakai Karaitiana Limited Edition Screen Prints

Rakai Karaitiana was born and raised in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay and spent entire summers roaming the sand dunes and beaches of his hau kainga, Waimarama. As children, Rakai’s father taught him and his siblings how to surf and as young teenagers would load the family ford falcon station wagon and do road trips up the east coast visiting whanau and exploring isolated surf breaks. Visiting these coastal communities Rakai was exposed to the painted Ringatu Marae of the east coast, these images and the love of the ocean and coastline is a big part of what inspires Rakai’s work.

Jen Siever Abstract Ink Originals

Auckland based artist Jen Sievers is most well known for her beautiful portraits of women she dubs as Queens. So naturally, we were excited to receive new original artworks from Jen, although they are different from what we normally see from Jen they are still very exciting and carry the same amount of life as her abstract portraits.

The bursts of colour look as though they are dancing across the paper and Jen has managed to capture them in a freeze frame, some just as they have burst forth and others when they are slowly dissolving into the background.

We really love these new works and we hope you do too.

Nic Staveley Photographic Art Prints

Nic Staveley is a passionate photographer who is inspired by the execution of interesting briefs and strong concepts. With a love for portrait and landscape pictures, his images evoke emotion and a sense of narrative that either encompasses or documents his subject matter.

In this series Nic has traveled the length of the country, stopping in as many small towns as possible to photograph the buildings that make up these communities, particularly the ‘Community Hall’.

Nic’s photographs of these community halls look as though time has not touched them, but the bright light and colours give a sense of life in places not frequented so much these days. Nic’s series celebrates the humble community hall and allows them to be remembered in their former glory.

‘High Mileage’ by Ina Arraoui

Ina Arraoui curiosity to discover and learn other cultures fed her academic pursuits and practice of printmaking. With a Masters degree in Anthropology in her back pocket and her artist’s hat on, Ina decided to travel to the mother of civilizations; Africa. After many travels there, Ina made the decision to live for two years in Morocco, where she studied traditional intaglio, monoprint and etching techniques. Ina’s artwork is reflecting her visual memory of patterns, light and colours. She uses her woodcuts to play with organic structures as it is developing unexpectedly under her microscope.

‘High Mileage’ is a print from her 2017 solo exhibition ‘Blowout’. This exhibition explores ideas of immigration and Ina wanted to challenge the way viewers see immigrants.
